There is a class offered to support Debate called COMMUNICATIONS. See Ms. Smith to get enrolled.

If you are interested at all in trying this activity, see Mr. Owens in the classroom at the back of the library.

Debate involves teams of two students who will argue each side of a proposition that is chosen a year in advance. The teams will prepare arguments on each side of the resolution. The students then travel to area high schools and compete against students from all over the State. 

The debate season runs from September through January in Kansas. After debate season, the Forensics (Speech) season starts. Go to the Forensics page to get information about that activity.

You do not need to do Forensics to do Debate or visa-versa.
